i4C watch this clip again! there're so many impt lessons we can learn from the video we watched last sat, but this clip really struck me. this journey we walk with God is gonna b preety much the same s it was for brock. yes, its gonna hurt, its gonna burn our muscles, but we promised to give God our very best. n He's there, to guide us, to encourage us. in Isaiah 46:3-4 "I have cared for you since you were born. yes, I carried you before you were born. I will be your God throughout your lifetime--until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you." notice brock was blindfolded, we lean not on our physical eyes for guidance, cos the flesh will fail. but we lean on Holy Spirit's guidance, the light that never fails.

“make every moment of your life count with God”
“don’t seek after writing songs…only when songs come out of worship, come out of experiences in our lives they are the songs that connect with people’s hearts…”

So… we are not seeking to write songs here. We’re seeking God’s heart. And for those aspiring to be song writers, hope these are good tips! Haha. And I encourage you to take up song writing! Writing songs is like engaging in free worship, writing a new song to God, letting our hearts sing freely to Him, and just devoting all we are to God. Cause I feel God uses these songs to bring us into a higher level of worship and intimacy with Him, and songs are great spiritual markers!

I look forward to what amazing songs we’ll be writing from our daily quiet time with God, our prayers, during mission trip and YI camp.

A good reminder of God's Love.

Every Sunday afternoon, after the morning service at the church, the Pastor and his eleven year old son would go out into their town and hand out Gospel Tracts. This particular Sunday afternoon, as it came time for the Pastor and his son to go to the streets with their tracts, it was very cold outside, as well as pouring down rain.

The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest clothes and said, "OK, dad, I'm ready."

His Pastor dad asked, "Ready for what?"

"Dad, it's time we gather our tracts together and go out."

Dad responds, "Son, it's very cold outside and it's pouring down rain."

The boy gives his dad a surprised look, asking, "But Dad, aren't people still going to Hell, even though it's raining?"

Dad answers, "Son, I am not going out in this weather."

Despondently, the boy asks,"Dad, can I go? Please?"

His father hesitated for a moment then said, "Son, you can! go. Here are the tracts, be careful son." "Thanks Dad!"

And with that, he was off and out into the rain. This eleven year old boy walked the streets of the town going door to door and handing everybody he met in the street a Gospel Tract. After two hours of walking in the rain, he was soaking, bone-chilled wet and down to his VERY LAST TRACT. He stopped on a corner and looked for someone to hand a tract to, but the streets were totally deserted.

Then he turned toward the first home he saw and started up the sidewalk to the front door and rang the door bell. He rang the bell, but nobody answered.

He rang it again and again, but still no one answered. He waited but still no answer. Finally, this eleven year old trooper turned to leave, but something stopped him.

Again, he turned to the door and rang the bell and knocked loudly on the door with his fist. He waited, something holding him there on the front porch!

He rang again and this time the door slowly opened. Standing i n the doorway was a very sad-looking elderly lady. She softly asked, "What can I do for you, son?"

With radiant eyes and a smile that lit up her world, this little boy said, "Ma'am, I'm sorry if I disturbed you, but I just want to tell you that*JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU* and I came to give you my very last GospelTract which will tell you all about JESUS and His great LOVE." With that, he handed her his last tract and turned to leave.

She called to him as he departed. "Thank you, son! And God Bless You!"

Well, the following Sunday morning in church Pastor Dad was in the pulpit. As the service began, he asked, "Does anybody have testimony or want to say anything?"Slowly, in the back row of the church, an elderly lady stood to her feet.As she began to speak, a look of glorious radiance came from her face, "No one in this church knows me. I've never been here before.

You see, before last Sunday I was not a Christian. My husband passed on some time ago, leaving me totally alone in this world. Last Sunday, being a particularly cold and rainy day, it was even more so in my heart that I came to the end of the line where I no longer had any hope or will to live.

So I took a rope and a chair and ascended the stairway into the attic of my home.

I fastened the rope securely to a rafter in the roof, then stood on the chair and fastened the other end of the rope around my neck. Standing on that chair, so lonely and brokenhearted I was about to leap off, when suddenly the loud ringing of my doorbell downstairs startled me. I thought, "I'll wait a minute, and whoever it is will go away."

I waited and waited, but the ringing doorbell seemed to get louder and more insistent, and then the person ringing also started knocking loudly.

I thought to myself again, "Who on earth could this be? Nobody ever rings my bell or comes to see me." I loosened the rope from my neck and started for the front door, all ! the while the bell rang louder and louder.

When I opened the door and looked I could hardly believe my eyes, for there on my front porch was the most radiant and angelic little boy I had ever seen in my life. His SMILE, oh, I could never describe it to you!

The words that came from his mouth caused my heart that had long been dead, TO LEAP TO LIFE as he exclaimed with a cherub-like voice, "Ma'am, I just came to tell you that JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU." Then he gave me this Gospel Tract that I now hold in my hand.
As the little angel disappeared back out into the cold and rain, I closed my door and read slowly every word of this Gospel Tract. Then I went up to my attic to get my rope and chair. I wouldn't be needing them any more. Yousee---I am now a Happy Child of the KING. Since the address of your church was on the back of this Gospel Tract, I have come here to personally say THANK YOU to God's little angel who came just in the nick! of time and by so doing, spared my soul from an eternity in hell."

There was not a dry eye in the church. And as shouts of praise and honor to THE KING resounded off the very rafters of the building, Pastor Dad descended from the pulpit to the front pew where the little angel was seated.

He took his son in his arms and sobbed uncontrollably.

Probably no church has had a more glorious moment, and probably this universe has never seen a Papa that was more filled with love & honor for his son ... Except for One.

This Father also allowed His Son to go out into a cold and dark world. He received His Son back with joy unspeakable, and as all of heaven shouted praises and honor to The King, the Father sat His beloved Son on a throne far above all principality and power and every name that is named.

you see, it’s our enthusiastic-ness in sharing the gospel that makes a difference. yeps. (:

God, how can I ever fail You?

i4C!!! i miss you!

anyway, i arrived safely here that day. :] my school will start next monday. right now i'm just sort of slacking, and finding out how to get around places. it's quite easy cos they have bus and train which is quite commonly used. just like singapore. but in singapore there are more people. the land here is big and population small, that's why i see less people around here. haha.

today i should be attending a cell group near where i'm staying. if i'm not wrong, their cell groups are based on where you live. so for now i'm staying near school, so i'll be going for the cell group here. but once my aunt and family has the house, i will move in with them and then probably attend the cell group there.

i know it's not even saturday but i miss youth impact so so much. so that means you guys have to cherish cell group and youth impact a lot! haha. seriously, the first few days here are not easy, cos i still don't know anyone. i knew i needed to get into a christian community asap.

i now understand that fellowship is really important. that's why we need each other, we can't stand on our own. :] i thank God for you all! you've been such a great bunch of people! i can't wait to go back there. like what zibing said, i'm only borrowed there for 3 years. but i shall shorten the time that they borrow me, hehe, it's only 10 months each year! :D

the weather here is quite good. in the day it's like singapore but in the morning and evening, it gets cool. it's pretty nice the weather.

anyway, study hard alright! i will study hard too when school starts!

Blessed Christmas!!!
Its a season of reconciliation! Praise God, that more than 13 precious people heard the gospel yesterday during our retro X'mas celebration! actually they heard more than once! before the service, some of us started to share with them... one received Christ on the bus! How cool is that! a life-changing bus ride! Another invited Jesus into her heart during the service.... At our x'mas party, we shared again! haha.... i love it man! We keep sharing, and God keeps knocking! :)

Guys and gals, well done! I'm see an army of young people, rising up to win their friends to Christ. Continue to live a life victorious unto God!

Today is our logistics day 4 YI camp & we had 2 transport e beds to FMS. We unloaded sum beds and guess wat, we had to unpack all e beds to find missing caps! We, Henry Mel Me, had 110 beds to check! Mammoth task? Made possible by God. Haha. We started our work and at our last few boxes, e sun was blazing dwn on us. I was lyk 'God, a bit of shade'. And God answered! CloudS came and we were shaded! I was hot, and God gav rain! I was tired and my vball fwens helped! God, You're so good to us. Thanks!

Pray in Faith and be Specific

Something i learnt from the mission trip was to pray in faith, believing in God's work and it shall come true and also be quick to pray for the right thing. Anyway, if we aint quick enough, Holy Spirit is always there to guide us!

One real life example that happened to me on Friday night.

I suddenly had a cough. I prayed against the cough and immediately the cough was gone. Nevertheless, i felt that my throat was sore, i pray against the sore throat and again, it was healed. Hallelujah. But i started to breathe heavily. Initially i prayed for this heavy breathing to be removed but it didn't. So i prayed to God again, i asked God to clear my windpipe so i can breathe without difficulty. It didn't work too. I kept praying against the heavy breathing until one point of time, I heard an internal voice telling me to pray against oppression. But i continue to pray against the heavy breathing for once, it didn't work, so i prayed again the oppression in the name of Lord Jesus. Amazingly, I was able to breathe without difficulty anymore and the heavy breathing was gone instantaneously. I believe Holy Spirit guided me to pray for and against the specific thing.

What a wonderful weekend!!

Philemon 6 says
"I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ."

Indeed, breakthroughs can be seen in our cell and many of us, immediately! Esp during praise and worship at SNL! We were all jumping and praising GOd! Its when we start sharing our faith, then our own faith is strengthened! Farmers of God, well done! You've obeyed and scattered the seeds of the gospel!

Thank you those of you who have come on the past 3 sundays, to help with our mission fund raising! "Behind Enemy Lines" is a huge success! over 3 sundays, we've raised $308!!! This is really good!!!

And as we put in our best, our Jehovah Jireh provided more than enough!! as of today, youth impact has raised over $36000 and there are still love offerings coming in! How cool is God? VERY COOL!

hi people. this is something from a piece of paper i saw pinned on my teacher's board. i do think it might be helpful. lets try our best to share with people and get them to come :D

what are seeking non christians looking for from believers? if you could read their minds, you might 'hear' the following.

1. i dont care how much you know until i know how much you care.

2. have compassion on me. dont condemn me just because my life's a mess.

3. ask permittion to tell me about God;dont just push Him to me. Listen to me. Find out about my world before you expect me to listen to yours.

4. use words i can understand.

5. have a sense of humour.

6. dont focus on your church. labels dont mean much to me. im looking for people who live like they love God. chances are i've been burnt or bored in church situations in the past.

7. dont just tell me about your faith; show me your faith by serving others in love.

8. take your time. dont temm me everything at once. ive me time to let me see God's work in your life.

9. tell me how God can make a difference in my daily life, not just at church on sunday. if im going to be a christian, i want it to work in real life.

10. make Jesus real to me. show me how to know Him from his word, and chances are i'll want to know Him too.

A view on luxuries, materialism,

this is what struck me today and i'd like to share with everyone!!! it's about luxuries and materialism and i just qouted it from my journal.

Thank God! For widening my vision, for telling me the true value of the valuables. In Your eyes, these gems, expensive goods, luxuries are nothing but Your creation. They are accessories to the gem in the heart.(an add-on items for people with a gem in the heart) Or rather, they become the gem of the empty heart.(a must for the empty heart) They are created by You Lord, for the purpose i wish to know, through You(through the 5ways in new life), not through men(the conformed world). My focus shall not be earthly pleasure(materialism in this case) but refining the gem in my heart(living God's will) and on the Day, offer my only gem to You. It shall be the precious gem that i will keep it from shining to the world, for as the moment it is exposed to the earth, it is exposed to dust and will no longer be a gem(shall not be arrogant and show off the good deeds).

hopefully it will be of use in cases where u'r sharing with ur frens about materialism and luxuries.

Don't Give Up!

hey people, God has been telling me not to give up. He knows i tend to give up when i face difficulties or feel tired from studying.

i was reading the book of Jonah, and here's what i've learnt:

even though Jonah was stuck in the belly of the big fish, he still praised God and know God hears him. "out of the belly of Sheol i cried, and You heard my voice."

when Jonah was weary, he remembers the Lord. "when my soul fainted within me, i remembered the Lord; and my prayer went up to You, into Your Holy temple."

in the same way, even though i'm like "stuck" in this studying phase, and many of us are too, we should praise God and seek Him and know that He hears us. He knows that we're working hard in our studies for Him, so don't give up!

and when we're tired from doing math practices after math practices, or memorising biology, social studies, history, literature or geography, know that we can hold on to God. don't forget that He can take away our weariness, and we can receive joy even while studying!

use this week wisely!! :]

and when the carrots were in round pieces, i remembered my mum used to make flowers out of them.

:D Rmb to study, people. Even though we may have tuitions or something, and our study hours is always constant and the same every week, lets try to manage our time well and study apart from our tuition! we should try and fufill 15 hours (or 12) as best as we can, instead of making do with just a couple of hours we've had from tuition. It's not easy to achieve 15 hours, but we can set goals for ourselves to try and study more! doesn't it feel horrible to be in doubt? to not know anything and to study last minute?
lets make use of this to push ourselves to study and do well!

THAT IS, TO GO WITH THE CORRECT MINDSET, WITH A HEART AND MIND THAT IS PREPARED FOR AN AWESOME DAY. AND GUESS WHAT? THINGS DID CHANGE FOR THE BETTER, AND I DUN DREAD SCH AS MUCH NOW! IN FACT, IT WASNT SCHOOL THAT CHANGED. SCHOOL IS VERY MUCH THE SAME, ITS JUST THAT MY ATTITUDE CHANGED, THAT'S WHY I'M ABLE TO SEE THE GOOD THINGS AND ENJOY SCHOOL. YEA?

Alas the mission trippers are going out to proclaim His glory in Thailand on Monday. Their flight is at 11am i think, so if any of us wants to send them off, have to be there from bout 9-10am or at 830am which is the time they have to be there.
Will miss you all when you all are gone[Zibing, Melissa, Lynette, Karyn]
Cant wait for you to come back, i wanna hear your testimonies. Will keep you all in our prayers.
And on saturday those who didnt go mission trip have to be in church at 130pm. We will be an area prayer meeting for the mission tripers. Im not sure what else is gonna be organized, but im sure there is some event prepared.

as we have a new target for 16 REGULAR ppl in our cell, let's really strive to reach it.
let's all share to at least 1 person each week and see how God will bless us through our faith.
continue t be prayerful and ASK God for willing ppl, ppl with open hearts.

Peace of mind in a stressful world

A) 3 kinds of PEACE

1. Peace with God

Romans 5:1
peace of God is the foundation of all peace; extremely vital
John 14:6 -> only through Jesus Christ; one way, one truth, one life

2. Peace of God

Colossians 3:15 -> let Jesus impart the peace from Him to us
let the peace of God umpire in our hearts; to umpire is to maintain peace

3. Peace with people

Romans 12:18 -> make the effort to make peace
relational peace reduces conflict

Peace is a GIFT [john 14: 27], and God wants to give it to us. We need to receive it. God gives us peace in the midst of trouble.

B) HOW? 5 ways to receive PEACE

1. accept God's pardon

we must rid of guilt to receive peace
Micah 7:18 -> God is willing, and in fact delighted, to pardon us
1 John 1:9

2. obey God's principles

the Bible is the manual of our lives; when u dont use the manual, things go wrong - no peace
we must obey God
Psalms 119: 165 & 167
peace comes when we live in obedience to Him

3. focus on God's presence

be conscious of the fact that God is always with us
Isaiah 26:3
"if you look at the world, you will be distressed; if you look at youself, you will be depressed, if you look at Christ, you will be at rest!" -Rick Warren
warning system in our body: TENSION AND STRESS!! ["you're not looking to God anymore, you're looking at the problem!"]
Psalms 46:1 -> God is our refuge, strength and He will always help us. be still, let go and let God
Psalms 46:10 -> always know that God is God
Philippians 4:7

4. trust God's purpose

Proverbs 3:5-7 -> trust in God, not lean on ourselves, acknowledge Him, our paths will be straight
Philippians 4:12-13
need to trust God and stop asking "WHY?" and "HOW?"
Luke 8:22-25 -> no need to worry because God is with us
we must completely relax in Him (like in the above verse, Jesus SLEPT!!)
Acts 12:7 -> Peter's trust in God

5. ask for PEACE

Philippians 4:6-7 -> not be anxious
worrying is a useless emotion, it is the opposite of peace
Luke 8:14 -> (Parable of the Sower) worries will choke us
"Those who joyfully leave everything in God's hands will eventually see God's hands in everything. Worry ends where faith begins."

Altar calls are between you and God. You respond to God by coming for altar call. For example, if the altar call is for unforgiving hearts. God sees the person coming for altar call and knows that this person wants to let go of his unforgiveness in his heart. It is the step of faith the person has taken, the person also shows that he believes God can heal his heart and put it right again. During altar calls, the holy spirit fills you and touches you. It is an indescribable and wonderful feeling. Once you have been touched by God, you will hunger for more of Him. Those people who are touched by God and are hungry for Him, they will love to come to church. Because they want more of Him and learn more about Gods words.

Perhaps I can tell you my experience:
When I first came into Sat Nite life, I also didnt dare to jump and dance during praise n worship. I felt really odd. Although I wanted to jump with them, my legs just stayed fix on the ground. I looked at my friends, they werent jumping either. So I didnt.
But one Saturday, a stranger beside me keep asking me to jump with her. When I jumped, I felt as if my legs were so heavy. I wanted to stop, but I kept jumping anyway. When the song ended, I stopped dancing. But I was very happy and smiling from ear to ear. I had overcomed my fear of jumping in public. I didn’t even care if anyone was watching me. As more Saturdays come, dancing during praise songs just came easily to me. I also realized, that when you jump and dance for God, you are filled with a certain satisfaction. Its like its a stress releaser. Who cares if the world thinks I am crazy? I am dancing for Jesus! =)

I used to be afraid of going for altar calls too. I find it scary walking down the aisle and standing in front of the stage. Especially when I know everyone is watching. So I started out with asking my friends if they want to go altar call with me. Somehow its sort of comforting with someone you know beside you. But the bad thing is, sometimes my friends dont wanna go for altar call, so I also didnt go coz I scared to be alone. Until it came a time when my friend ask me:
**Why do you go to altar call every week. I tot altar call is to change your life. Then you go to altar call every week with the same problems in your life. Might as well don’t need to go since its useless. Your life is still the same**
She made me think for a long time. Then finally I came up with an answer. I was surprised at myself, that I dared to counter back what she said. I said:
**I go to altar call because I am hungry for more of God and I want to feel His presence and anointing of the Holy Spirit. It doesnt mean that I go for one time, then I am perfect. I can go every time for all I care. I want God. Dont you?**
And the next few times, I went for altar call myself without asking anyone. Because I felt that the altar call was for me. And I wont feel at ease if I dont go up. Its like something is nudging you to go for altar call. And I believe it to be the Holy Spirit. After a few weeks, she also started responding to the altar calls too. Through this time, my faith and courage increased greatly.

We are having prayer walks around the school daily. There is a cell grp on Friday which focus mainly on prayers,bible study and evangelism.Those who cannot cum or is bz is alright as it is not compulsory. The saturday cell grp is still going on as usual,everyone muz come.
To help raise funds for the Brigades, each of us will be given 2 donation cards with bout 40 entries each. The aim is to raise $10 000. But it is not enough yet, coz 40% will be given to the HQs.So each of us have to work especially hard to raise the funds.
There is also a Bible race going on to encourage everyone to read their Bibles on a daily basis. Each of us will be given a small yellow booklet in which it tells us what to read daily. At the end of the week, tear out that week's Bible verses and drop it in a shoebox specially made. the first 10 will be awarded.
Saturday Nite life is gonna be more interesting now, those who want to help in SNL and be part of the SNL team, plz contact Wanping.
There is gonna be a march holiday outting combined with Shalom in Changi Airport. It'll be fun. For further information, contact Kenneth.
